Letter-Writing Poems - Fall 2020 Youth Writing Workshops - Just Buffalo - Buffalo NY

Together respond. Offer. Imagine response/respond imaginatively. Between the real and unreal, the sent and unsent, responded to and unanswered, how does the letter cross time and space—how might we? We’ll read letters from poets and poems written as letters: Diane di Prima, Audre Lorde, Brandon Shimoda, John Berger, Danez Smith, Emily Dickinson, Erica Hunt… Who will we write in conversation, how will our words embody correspondence, dance in this moment taking in surroundings, what will they stir? Writing to/from places, people, animals, feelings, ancestors, and more.
