As a precaution to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and care for our community, Just Buffalo Literary Center has postponed a number of events, and we will follow the guidance of Buffalo Public Schools in terms of Just Buffalo Writing Center programming.

Words on the Street

WORDS ON THE STREET is Just Buffalo Literary Center’s placemaking initiative, designed to engage the whole community in the celebration of the written and spoken word. Outdoor public readings, workshops, and events occurred all along the literary corridor on Washington Street to inspire people of all ages and all walks-of-life.

  • 120+ writers, poets, & artists featured at 35+ events
  • 1,000s of writing notebooks handed out
  • Poems by LIT CITY writers appeared on sidewalks thanks to Joel Brenden’s and Chris Siano’s meticulous stencils
  • New mural designed by Julian Montague and painted by James Moffit on Just Buffalo’s Washington Street wall
