Buffalo, NY 14208
Dates: Tuesday, March 24, 2020
Time: 5:30 pm-7:30 pm
In conjunction with Women’s History Month and International Women’s Day, What We Carry will lift up four women immigrants and descendants of immigrants to tell their stories. Coming from different areas of the globe, with widely divergent traditions and expectations, these women and their foremothers have all made a new life in Buffalo. These personal stories reflect on what these women or their ancestors carried with them to Buffalo and how they carry on their family legacy today.
Stories humanize us. Listening to stories can build empathy and allows us to experience deeper connections within our community when we hear similarities or common themes from others’ experiences.
