Just Buffalo Literary Center will be offering a Summer Writing Workshop for Teachers at the Just Buffalo Writing Center on July 13-14, 2017. The two-day workshop will give teachers the opportunity to approach creative writing as a teaching tool capable of inspiring diverse student populations to create and interpret complex texts. We will focus on developing and sharing lesson plans that teachers can use in the classroom. Also, participants will discuss and write along with some of Buffalo’s “best” poets and writers.
We invite teachers across K-12 grade levels and community college to attend. The workshop seeks a range of participants, including new and experienced teachers, those who enjoy teaching creative writing, and those who have never used it before.
Participants will have a 1-hour “lunch on your own” break each day, with many restaurants located within easy walking distance.
*Teachers may be eligible to receive 10 hours of Continuing Professional Development Units (CEUs) for completing the workshop. Check with your professional development administrator. Just Buffalo will verify your participation and issue a certificate upon completion.
The deadline for registration is May 31st. Spots are limited, so we strongly encourage applying early.
