In this Meet-the-Writer opportunity, poet & translator Rosa Alcalá will visit the Just Buffalo Writing Center to discuss her work and answer questions.

Rosa Alcalá is the author of three books of poetry, most recently M(y)Other Tongue (forthcoming Futurepoem Books). Her poetry has also appeared in a number of anthologies, including Stephen Burt’s The Poem is You: 60 Contemporary American Poems and How to Read Them (Harvard UP). Her translation and editorial projects include Spit Temple: The Selected Performances of Cecilia Vicuña (Ugly Duckling Presse) and Cecilia Vicuña: The Selected Poems (Kelsey Street Press). She is the recipient of an NEA Translation Fellowship, and was runner-up for a PEN Translation Award. She teaches at the University of Texas-El Paso.

This event is FREE, aimed at young students aged 12–18.
