Jerome McGann, John Stewart Bryan Professor at the U of Virginia, has a long career of editing, writing criticism on, and creating digital websites of British and American poetry. He is broadly credited with transforming the fields of Byron studies and of textual/editorial scholarship. His most recent book is titled A New Republic of Letters: Memory and Scholarship in the Age of Digital Reproduction (Harvard University Press, 2014).
