Dedicated to the empowerment of emerging writers ages 12–19, the Just Buffalo Writing Center (JBWC) provides access to youth writing workshops, literary events, and free one-on-one tutoring, plus a host of in-school creative writing programs—all guided by our talented team of writers, artists and educators.
The Writing Center offers free after-school and summer youth writing workshops, ranging from playful to practical, and all taught by our talented teaching artists. All workshops are free and aimed at young writers aged 12–18.
Each year, Just Buffalo publishes WORDPLAY, our annual student anthology featuring the most outstanding examples of youth writing from our creative writing programs.
Since 1982, Just Buffalo has led the way for literary arts education in Western New York, bringing professional writers into Buffalo Public Schools and other communities through creative writing programs that reach 2,500 students per year.
