“In a post-script to his book Theories of Perfomance, Jay Besemer explains his persistently enjambed line breaks as ‘A space for rest….recognizing that living is hard work, even if that work is a give-and-take with a book of poems propped up on the belly of a reader lying in bed.’ That’s how I experienced Creeley’s poems, poem after poem, in his collected. They’re brief, sure, but also remarkably generous: room after room of meditative rest.”

“The first Creeley poem I remember reading is ‘Signs’ from his collaboration with artist Georg Baselitz ca. 2000.”
—Jason Duval
“Saw him read when I was 20!”

“Remember when Robert Creeley recorded a track with Mercury Rev? What a trip!”
