Our Response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak

As a precaution to help limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) and care for our community, Just Buffalo Literary Center has postponed a number of events, and we will follow the guidance of Buffalo Public Schools in terms of Just Buffalo Writing Center programming.

Open Hours: In Gratitude Session

OPEN HOURS is a cafe-style gathering that provides a dedicated time and place to focus on your writing, create new work, and take creative risks. This session is inspired by the “In Gratitude” project—a city-wide initiative rooted in the “serious noticing” of everyday delights.

Whether you are drafting poetry, working on a novel, or composing a reflection for our In Gratitude boxes, Open Hours offers a supportive environment to deepen your craft. Get inspired by the Just Buffalo library and join a community of writers in one of downtown’s most beautiful creative spaces.

Open Hours Format:

Introductions & Prompt: Brief check-ins and an optional “In Gratitude” writing prompt to spark new ideas.

Deep Work Time: Quiet space for reading and writing.

Sharing: An opportunity to share your work, your process, or a moment of gratitude.

Free & open to the public. Come sit in the joy of the creative process with us.
