JBWC Showcase: ’23
The Just Buffalo Writing Center Showcase is an annual reading celebrating young writers who have been active members of the JBWC, and who are graduating from our program to take on the world. Also featuring the 2022 Youth Fellows, Showcase highlights the astonishing dexterity & originality of Buffalo’s young artists.
JBWC ’23 Featured Writers
Angelina Tang is a JBWC 2022 Youth Fellow and rising senior in high school. She cherishes her writing above all else and hopes to extend her feelings to those who read or listen to it. Her interests in animal welfare and mental health rights have contributed greatly to shaping her character, and she always desires to learn more about the unknown in the world around her. In terms of hobbies, she enjoys martial arts and fashion.
Haya is a JBWC Youth Ambassador, goes to City Honors, and has a passion for writing and expressing what she thinks is very “controversial.” Nothing she’s ever written is ever that serious but she loves over-dramatizing everything in her writing for fun. She hopes, so far with her experience at JBWC, her writing has been able to inspire someone to write.
Liam Cobb (2022 Youth Fellow) is a lifelong Buffalo native and rising senior at City Honors School at Fosdick-Masten Park with a passion for convoluted philosophy, poetry, and literature who hopes to use writing to advance some justice in the world, however bleak it gets.
Liam Rio is an actor and writer from Buffalo, NY. He has been a Youth Ambassador with the Just Buffalo Writing Center since 2020. Liam has recently graduated from City Honors School at Fosdick-Masten Park as an IB Diploma Program candidate and will be attending the NYU Tisch School of the Arts in the fall to pursue a B.F.A. in Drama.
Theo Bellavia-Frank has been a proud Youth Ambassador for six years. He will be studying English and Judaic Studies at Wesleyan University in the fall.
This event is free & open to the public.
