JBWC Open Mic - Creative Writing Programs for Youth - Just Buffalo Writing Center

JBWC Open Mic (24 October 2024)

This month you’re invited to add a Halloween twist! Perform your spookiest creation! Dress up as your favorite writer, monster, or character and share a piece “written” in their voice. Hop on stage as an Olympic breakdancer and do your worst.

Prizes for best costume, best in-character performance, and spookiest writer!

Held every other month, JBWC’s open mic is especially for wordy creators (ages 12-18): poets/spoken word artists, storytellers, playwrights, comic artists, orators, and songwriters. (That said, all artforms are welcome.) Come to perform or to simply be inspired by your talented peers.

  • The JBWC Creative Writing Programs for Youth are FREE and aimed at young students aged 12–18.
  • This youth open mic is in-person only.
  • ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: If you have any questions/issues accessing any of these opportunities, please let us know and we will work with you to make sure you can participate.
