Comics & Graphic Novels Meet-up with Max Weiss

Are you passionate about storytelling and art? Do you have ideas for comics but aren’t sure where to start? Join local cartoonist Max Weiss for a hands-on experience designed for young adults who want to bring their stories to life through sequential art.

Topics covered will include story development, visual storytelling, drawing for comics, lettering/ formatting, and publishing/ sharing your work. All skill levels welcome!

  • The JBWC Creative Writing Programs for Youth are FREE and aimed at young students aged 12–18.
  • This youth writing workshop is in-person only.

    Max Weiss
    Cartoonist

    Max Weiss is a Buffalo Native Cartoonist and songwriter, and vocalist of the national touring act, Welks Mice. After receiving a BA in English Literature and Art Education from the University of Vermont in 2012, Max returned to Buffalo where he self-published two graphic novels and released one LP on One Percent Press. Max works as an academic life coach for students with disabilities at the nonprofit organization Accessible Academics. His third title, Time For Lunch,/em>, is slated to be published by Secret Acres in 2022.
