The Story of Story - Fall 2020 Youth Writing Workshops - Just Buffalo - Buffalo NY

What makes a story a story and not just a series of events? In this lively workshop, we will look closely at this question, examining how to create characters and how they change, emotionally, within a story. Writers will be asked to design their own characters using Pinterest and questionnaires. We will take the view that the author is not creating character out of nothing, but rather from ideas and images already known to them and collaging them together to create a new text. This workshop is introvert and extrovert friendly. Writers will be invited to share their work or just follow along. Gentle encouragement will be provided, as well as resources for publication or further research into the ideas presented.

Where: Online Workshop
Date: Tuesday, November 3, 2020
