Writing Center Workshop Timelines: 3b: Past Workshops (Unseen Archive), 4: Benjamin Brindise Workshops & Events

Short Story Horror Workshop

Taught by: Ben Brindise, fiction writer & spoken word poet

Where:
Just Buffalo Writing Center
468 Washington Street @ Mohawk, 2nd Floor
Buffalo, NY 14203
Dates: October 31 & November 2, 2017
Time: 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.

One goal of fiction is to find the truth inside the lie. Writing within the horror genre allows us to identify what truly scares us now on an individual, communal, or societal level. Teaching Artist Benjamin Brindise will take participants through the reasons we write horror, the difference between terror, horror, and the gross-out, and how to get started writing your own scary story.

This workshop is FREE, aimed at young students aged 12–18, and limited to 12 participants.
