String & Word Workshop Timelines: 3b: Past Workshops (Unseen Archive), 4: Christina Vega-Westhoff Workshops & Events

Led by:
Nina Vega-Westhoff, poet & translator

Where:
Just Buffalo Writing Center
468 Washington Street @ Mohawk, 2nd Floor
Buffalo, NY 14203
Dates: January 30 & February 1, 2018
Time: 4:30 p.m.–5:30 p.m.

This workshop begins from string as physical material. We’ll work between set and imagined patterns—string looped around the hands (string figures), loose string and yarn fashioned together, practices of writers using string, and more. Reshaping, braiding, threading, knotting, and stitching through language, how might we (re)pattern (into) the future?

Presented in relation to this year’s Indeterminacy Festival—May 14-20 Silo City
The Indeterminacy Festival will go into its second year, exploring emergence by using string as the primary medium with which to enact the felt-experience of threading, stretching, connecting, and binding new ideas into an interconnected whole.

This workshop is FREE, aimed at young students aged 12–18, and limited to 12 participants.
