Poetry readings by Marten Clibbens and Nava Fader
Marten Clibbens is a British poet living in Buffalo. He was born in London, raised in a small village near a ford, and received his BA from the University of Sussex in 1985. He subsequently moved to Buffalo to study with Robert Creeley. Deeply influenced by Jack Spicer, he writes mostly sequences. He has published five chapbooks: Three Forms (2012), Veterans Day (2010), and Iconography (all from Buffalo Ochre Papers), Sonet from Leave Books (1995), and Triplet from Starcherone Press (1998). Marta Werner’s Lost Pages Press brought our a more substantial collection called Sequence in 2006. He works as a chef at Shango restaurant in Buffalo. He is currently preparing his Collected Poems.
Nava Fader received her master’s from SUNY Buffalo’s Poetics Program, writing her thesis on Adrienne
Rich. She is a frequent practitioner of thievery and false translation, as in her chapbooks StoneSoup
(Slack Buddha Press,2009); The Plath Poems (dancing girl press, 2009); The Rilke Poems (Binge Press 2012); and Soot, Tear, Zest: Poems from Garcia Lorca; and in her full-length book, All The Jawing Jackdaw (BlazeVox, 2009) and Hitching Post, which consists of poems each beginning with a line from Michael Basinski’s book “Trailers” (also from BlazeVox Books). She is a
school librarian in the Buffalo Public Schools.
