The Choose Your Own Adventure Poems
In this workshop, we will create poems that unfold in multiple, surprising ways. Like the original choose your own adventure books, we will experiment with alternate endings, hidden stanzas, and poems that can be read in many more ways than one. Some poems are houses, but this workshop will encourage mazes, secret doors, and other unexpected and interactive possibilities. If you want to enter the forest, turn to page 3…

This workshop is FREE, aimed at young students aged 12–18, and limited to 12 participants.

Laura Marris

Laura Marris recent translations include Paol Keineg’s Triste Tristan and Other Poems (co-translated with Rosmarie Waldrop for Burning Deck Press), and she is currently at work on a new translation of Albert Camus’ The Plague. Her work has been supported by a MacDowell Colony Fellowship and a Daniel Varoujan Award from the New England Poetry Club. She teaches creative writing at the University at Buffalo.
