Do you wonder if you should quit your current project? Should you finish that book you started or will it always nag at you that you never gave it a chance? Deciding whether to commit yourself to a strong finish—or move on—can be agonizing, especially if you’ve hit some unexpected bumps that have drawn out your timeline and enthusiasm for your manuscript.
This workshop will help you figure out what you really want to do. In this 2-hour session, you’ll excavate what’s most at stake for you in completing your project. We’ll cover:
Leave with a concrete set of promises to yourself, a definitive timeline for keeping them, and the conviction that you’re about to make a decision you can live with.
This workshop works well if you have a specific project in mind that you’re contemplating either quitting or committing to afresh. It’s also great for anyone who has a pattern of starting strong but then getting stuck. You’ll finally be able to move forward with a weight off your shoulders and the clarity you’ve been seeking.

Sarah Campbell is a writer and learning designer whose “Finish It” workshops blend learning design, self-help philosophies, social science, and an understanding of informal habits to help people finish projects they care about. She has created online courses for McKinsey and ?What If! Innovation, and recently wrote for an ethics team at Microsoft to explain AI technology in language everyone can understand. Her radio pieces have aired on WNYC and as podcasts for the Poetry Foundation. She has a Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo and her poetry series, “What You Thought Was a Book”, was published and packaged as a box by Creature Press (2015).
