During May and through June 8, 2022, visiting poet Mathias Svalina will run his DREAM DELIVERY SERVICE throughout Buffalo, New York.
Each morning Svalina will rise early to bicycle around Buffalo delivering a unique dream poem for each subscriber. In addition to delivering dreams, Svalina will take up a weekly residency in Buffalo’s Reading Park at the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library in downtown Buffalo. On Wednesdays from noon-1 p.m. between May 18 and June 8, the public is invited to invent and write dreams with Svalina for the Reading Park’s landscape, which will become part of an interactive literary installation.
MATHIAS SVALINA is the author of seven books, most recently The Depression, a collaboration with the photographer Jon Pack published by Civil Coping Mechanisms. He is a founding editor of the small press Octopus Books, and has taught creative writing in universities, high schools, community arts spaces, prisons, and libraries. Since 2014, he has run a dream delivery service.
