“Writing Dramatic Monologues” This is a workshop which will help you understand and develop a character’s specific voice and introduce you to this form. Whether writing for performance or in narration, this workshop will help you discover your character from inside out.
“Hardship Writing” Writing has long-since been used as a vehicle for entertainment and communication of ideas, but it is also commonly used as a form of therapy. This workshop will focus on writing about hardships in a way that sheds a positive light on the situation; a way to rise above tragedy through the written and spoken word.
“Poetic Trading Cards” Stop hoarding those poems! Design artists’ trading cards using compact poems, color, rubber stamps, and collage, and then give them away for the holidays, trade with other poets, leave them on the bus, or otherwise keep them circulating.
“Poetry in Motion” Earth, water, fire, air, space. Practice a few poses and a guided relaxation with a certified yoga teacher to explore your internal geography, then create a travel journal or map of what you discovered there.
