Claudia Smith lives in San Antonio, Texas with her husband and son. She's had over eighty stories published in several journals and anthologies, including the Mississippi Review online, Redivider, Sou'wester, Night Train, Juked, Norton's The New Sudden Fiction: Short-Short Stories From America and Beyond, and Failbetter, among others. She won Rose Metal Press's first short-short chapbook collection; Ron Carlson was the judge and wrote the introduction. Her collection, The Sky Is A Well And Other Shorts, was featured on Powell's Daily Dose, and recently won the New England Bookbuilder's Award. It will be on display in Boston for a month, and then archived in the Burns Library at Boston College. The chapbook recently sold out, but the collection will live on in Rose Metal Press's A Peculiar Feeling of Restlessness: Four Chapbooks by Four Women, alongside collections by three of the competition's finalists. Claudia has twice been nominated for the Puschcart Prize; she is also a contributing web editor for Hobart magazine. You can find more about her stories at www.claudiaweb.net
