Studio: How To Write & Sell Your Book (Fiction/Nonfiction)
with Kathryn Radeff
Saturday, November 21, 2009 @ 10:00-2:00

You've got a great idea for a book. How do you develop that idea? Perhaps you've already written a draft. How do you go about finding a publisher or agent? In this workshop you will learn how to put together a professional proposal package consisting of a query/cover letter, a chapter-by-chapter outline, opening chapters and a catchy synopsis. Students will also learn how to identify appropriate potential editors and agents when the proposal is completed, and get a realistic understanding of the entire book publishing field. Instructor offers feedback on the draft of a letter, a synopsis and two sample chapters of a book manuscript.

Kathryn Radeff is a nationally published writer with decades of writing and teaching experience. Her work has appeared in numerous print and online publications, including Woman's World, Everywhere Travel, Northstar Travel Media, Lance Armstrong's LIVESTRONG, Instructor, Scholastic, Buffalo Spree, The Buffalo News and many others. Contributions have also appeared in Reader's Digest, and USA Weekend. A former literary agent, she worked as a book editor for several years, and also a book reviewer for Atlantic Publishing. She teaches a variety of writing courses at schools, colleges, art and literary centers in Western New York and South Florida specifically intended to help aspiring writers learn how to get published.
