| Small Press Poetry Poetry Reading: Anselm Berrigan and Dorothea Lasky Sponsored by: Just Buffalo Thursday, February 19, 2009 @ 7:00 PM Anselm Berrigan is a poet and teacher who lives and was raised in New York City. From 1989 -1994 he lived in Buffalo and took undergraduate courses at SUNY-Buffalo where he received a BA in English and Journalism. His books of poetry include Some Notes on My Programming (2006), Zero Star Hotel (2002), and Free Cell, which will be published in late 2009 by City Lights. From 2003-2007 he was Artistic Director of The Poetry Project at St. Mark's Church and host of the Project's weekly Wednesday Night Reading Series. With Alice Notley and Edmund Berrigan he co-edited The Collected Poems of Ted Berrigan, published in 2005 by the University of California. He's currently Poetry Editor for The Brooklyn Rail, and teaches writing at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn as well as at Bard College's summer mfa program, where he's co-chair of the writing department. Dorothea Lasky is the author of AWE (Wave Books, 2007) and Tourmaline (Transmission Press, 2008). Currently, she studies creativity at the University of Pennsylvania and lives in Sunnyside Queens, NY.
