Poet, publisher and musician Ara Shirinyan was born in 1977 in the Armenian Soviet Socialist Republic. His works include Syria Is in the World, Your Country Is Great a-g, Handsome Fish Offices. He is currently getting Your Country Is Great h-n to press. He co-founded the Smell, an all-ages music venue in Los Angeles and was until recently one of the co-directors of the Poetic Research Bureau.

Sandy Pool is a writer and classically trained theatre artist who lives in Toronto. Sandy holds a degree in Theatre and English from the University of Toronto, as well as a Master’s of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing from the University of Guelph. She is the winner of both the Constance Rooke Scholarship In Creative Writing and the Sharon Drummond Scholarship in Creative Writing. Her work has been published in many literary journals across Canada including The Antigonish Review,The Capilano Review, Contemporary Verse 2, dANDelion, The Fiddlehead, Filling Station, Grain, and Sub-terrain. Most recently, Pool joined the English faculty at St. Bonaventure.

STUDIO is curated by Barbara Cole (JBLC Artistic Director) and Kevin Thurston (co-founder of the Buffalo Small Press Book Fair & one of the masterminds at THE PUBLIC).
