International Day of Poetry Benefit Reading Timelines: 1b: Past Events (Unseen Archive), 2: Peach Reading

International Day of Poetry Benefit Reading
Where:

Sugar City
1239 Niagara Street
Buffalo, NY 14213
Date: December 16, 2016
Time: 7:00 p.m.

Peach Mag is participating in the International Day of Poetry Benefit Shows with a benefit reading in support of Journey’s End on Friday, December 16th, from 7 to 10pm at Sugar City, 1239 Niagara St.

The reading is open to the public with a suggested minimum donation of $5.

All proceeds will go directly to Journey’s End, a homegrown organization with the mission of welcoming refugees to Western New York and assisting them in becoming healthy, independent, and contributing members of our community.

Peach Mag’s mission to bring together the disparate groups of writers in Buffalo is fundamentally connected to our commitment to supporting Western New York’s immigrant and refugee populations. We believe in the power of giving a platform to those who need to share their stories and make their voices heard. In light of recent events, we feel it is necessary to use our platform now more than ever to demonstrate our solidarity with these groups of people in our home city.

Writers & Artists: If you’re interested in volunteering to read, or in donating books or artwork to be sold, please get in touch with us. We are currently compiling a roster of readers who will share their work at the reading. It is not necessary that your work be explicitly political in any way; we at Peach Mag believe that the act of expressing your perspective is inherently political. We welcome content of any length in all genres, styles, and areas of interest.

To register to read, donate books or artwork, or for more information, contact us at peachmgzn@gmail.com.
