Artists at Work is a series featuring professionals and artists in the Buffalo community who will visit the Just Buffalo Writing Center for a discussion with the young writers on the role art and writing plays in their daily lives.

Our next featured guest is Brendan Bannon. Brendan is an award-winning international photojournalist from Buffalo, N.Y. who divides his time between Nairobi, Kenya and the U.S. Among the subjects he has covered are gold mining in Congo, piracy in Somalia, HIV/AIDS healthcare throughout Africa, and daily life in Kenya. He has also worked on projects in Eastern Europe, India, and the United States.

Bannon’s photographs and photo essays have appeared in the New York Times, Christian Science Monitor, the Daily Telegraph, the Independent, the Guardian, Maclean’s, and other publications. He has also exhibited his work regionally, nationally, and internationally.

This discussion is FREE, aimed at young students aged 12–18, and limited to 12 participants.
